Junior B Hockey

Dallas played Junior B hockey in Edmonton for 5 seasons.

He was known for being a great bottom 6 power forward who killed penalties and loved defensive hockey.

He played 12 years as a defenceman before moving to forward in Midget.

High School Football

Dallas played 3 seasons of High School Football with the Stony Plain Marauders and Spruce Grove Panthers.

Dallas played offensive and defensive line for both teams taking 85% of plays.

He won the Junior High School Championship in 2012 with the Marauders.

U-21 Rugby

Dallas played 2 seasons as a 17 and 18 year old with the U-19 and U-21 Druids.

He played in High School for the Spruce Grove Panthers Winning MVP his senior year.

He won the U-19 City Championship playing the entire game as a 17 year old.

A Love For Hockey

Dallas and his grandfather have had season seats to the Oilers for as long as Dallas has lived.

This fueled his love, passion and understanding for the game we all love.

Dallas wants to visit every NHL arena to watch the Oilers play.

Coaching U15-AA

Dallas was the assistant coach and video coach for the PAC Saints U-15 AA Green Team.

He loved coming to the rink every day and seeing the fellas happy and ready to work.

He enjoyed teaching the players the mental side of the game is just as important as the physical side.

Slo-Pitch Baseball

Dallas played baseball growing up playing a mix of AA and house ball.

He started playing slo-pitch and instantly loved it.

His love for baseball transferred to a smaller diamond with shorter throws and easier to hit dingers? Sign Dallas up!

Mountain Skiing

Dallas and his younger brother Josh Merkel love to go mountain skiing.

They love the time they get to spend together while soaking in the view.

The older we get, the less days we get together. So we have to make the most of EVERY day together.

Golfing

He loves golfing with his family and friends.

He is what we call an honest golfer.

Dallas will quadruple bogey 3 straight holes then par, then birdie then eagle, then forget how to play golf again.

Dallas loves to shoot guns (responsibly) and a Status Indian he loves nature and everything the earth provides.

Dallas loves eating whole foods that keep his energy levels high and his mind clear.

Simplifying his diet has made many improvements that carry in the professional, personal and athletic worlds.

Dallas loves everything Oilers. His love for hockey has been amplified with one of the best franchises in the NHL being 25 minutes away.
