1. Sign up for Google Business Profile 

(formally Google My Business) 

You can visit google.com/business and log in with your Google account credentials.

2. Enter your business information

Next, you fill out basic information about your business, such as name, business type, telephone, and store location.

3. Verify your profile

Finally, you must verify your business before your profile is given the green light to appear on Google Search and Maps.

There are two ways to claim an existing profile:

Sign up or log in to Google My Business. As you enter your business information, the system will suggest possible matches. 

Select your business and confirm that you’re authorized to manage it. 

Locate your Business Profile in Maps, and click Claim this business.

And don’t worry if all the information isn’t quite right, you’ll have a chance to edit it once you have verified that you are the owner of the business.

You love to know what your customers think of you. After all without customers you would be out of business. When your customers leave reviews it is important that your respond promptly. Google is watching your GBP like a hawk and no response is a negative response in Google's eyes.

More importantely, if and when a negative review is left it is MORE important to respond. If it is a spam comment you should flag the comment for Google to remove it. If it is a fair comment on their experience then you must be positive, friendly and understanding in your response.

Use attributes to let customers know which services you offer, like “Dine-in” or “Curbside pickup.” You can also indicate safety precautions your business has implemented, like “Mask required,” “Staff gets temperature checks, ” or “Surfaces disinfected between visits.”

Update your menu when you’ve changed what dishes you serve, or if you have special offerings or deals to attract customers. To update your menu, sign into your Business Profile. In the menu on the left, click Info > Menu. Then, edit or add items.

Merchants in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, and the United States can work with online ordering providers to get takeout and delivery options on their Business Profiles.

If you use one of Google's existing partners, this should automatically surface on your profile.

You can use Pointy from Google. Pointy connects to select point-of-sale systems and automatically adds your in-store inventory to your Business Profile on Google.

Customize your materials with details from your Business Profile and download print-ready posters, window stickers, ready-to-share social posts, and more. 

Any business with a verified profile can access the free assets on the marketing kit website.

You can now update your Business Profile directly from Google Search and Maps. To start, sign in with the Google account used to verify your business. 

On Google Maps, tap your profile picture on the top right corner of the mobile app and select “Your Business Profile” to access these tools. 

On Google Search, look up your business by name or search “my business” to update your profile.

Google Business Profiles have replaced Google Places for Business, Google Listings, and Google+ Business Pages.
